🇬🇧 | Become a new generation coach

In the fall we will be launching our 40x20 Profive Methodology online and making it accessible for coaches all over the world. We have used the lock down period as a result of the worldwide pandemic and used the time we were given, to transpose our methodology and convert it ready for online learning.

We are super excited to be sharing our futsal methodology with you very soon. In anticipation of the launch, we sat down with coaches Albert and Toni and talked a little bit about the methodology, so you can hear from the educators themselves.

Enjoy!

Albert, how would you best describe the 40x20 methodology for people who are new to Profive?

Albert: “The 40x20 method is what we use in the Profive Academy and what I have been using personally throughout my futsal career. It is a new approach in the futsal community and it is based on principles in order to create a progressive learning process. So that we develop intelligent players through intelligent coaches. I have successfully implemented this methodology at Futsal Club Mataró over the last five years. So it works!”

How is it different from current methodologies?

“Many of the current futsal methods start with a system, which is to be honest the most difficult part. We see a lot of coaches starting to coach futsal and they often look on the internet and start copying successful professional coaches and try to teach this to their players. It is a very difficult learning process as there are many concepts to learn. At Profive we have simplified this and we start at the principles. The coach will learn all the technical-tactical principles of the futsal game and the most important game concepts. It is a different approach but it develops players to have good comprehensive understanding of the game and teaches them the skills to be adaptable in the game. It brings their talent to the surface.”

Toni, who is this course primarily aimed at?

Toni: “It is open to any coach in the world that would like to enrol and learn our 40x20 futsal learning process. We provide a different point of view, an open mind to help coaches make players grow. But in order to develop smart players, coaches need to understand the game. If you don't understand the game, it will be hard to play a system well. We see too often the robotic and predictable movement of players as they have been taught to follow drilled patterns by coaches. The course is for those coaches that are looking for a different approach.”

How is the course setup?

“It is constructed in different blocks to cover all the aspects of the game. We have an offensive block covering the offensive part of the game. There is a defensive block that covers the defensive part obviously and we have a management part which provides focuses on training, game and season management. The coach will be guided through the various blocks, learning the theory, video examples, coaching tips, common mistakes and exercises to try.”

Can this course help a coach with their team or club curriculum?

“The 40x20 method allows a coach to create their own model of the game (or identity as we call it). A unique identity for a club or team. Throughout the methodology a coach will learn which concepts should be taught at what age group and through that you have the building blocks for your curriculum for a club or team.”

Albert, how does it compare to the UEFA Futsal licenses and is it endorsed by a federation?

Albert: “It is completely different. The UEFA licenses show the global aspects of the game to the coaches, and is predominately based on systems. The Profive Method guides the coach through all the principles and concepts of the game, from the beginning to the end, in a progressive way. A Federation could use the Profive Method to endorse their own Futsal License as an excellent complement for the coaches.

Can coaches get certified with the 40x20 method?

“We have mini-exams for each major block such as the offensive block for example and coaches will receive a certificate upon successfully completing the course.”

Toni, when will it be available for coaches?

“The initial part of the 40x20 method will be launching this fall, in September or late August. Coaches that are interested can register their interest and the first 10 will receive a discount code for their first course when it launches.”
